Terms of service

The agreement between you and Web Upp Limited for the use of Bucketree. Written to be read rather than to be skipped.

Your licence

When you buy Bucketree you get a licence to use it, not ownership of it. A licence covers three Macs, or ten for a team, and it counts Macs rather than people; it is for personal or business use. A subscription licence lasts for as long as the subscription is current. A pay-once licence, available for three Macs, covers this major version of Bucketree for as long as you like, and if a later major version is ever sold separately, holders of a pay-once licence get it at a discount.

You may not resell it, redistribute it, share your licence key, or attempt to defeat the licensing. You may reverse engineer it to the extent the law expressly allows you to, and no further.

The trial

The trial runs for thirty days and asks for no card. When it ends, browsing and downloading keep working, because an application pointed at your backups has no business holding them hostage over a lapsed trial. Features beyond that stop until you buy a licence.

Subscription and renewal

Bucketree is sold as an annual subscription, or as a one-time purchase for three Macs. A subscription renews each year until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from the Freemius customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not end the year you have paid for.

Freemius are the merchant of record and the seller for the transaction. Their terms govern the sale itself, including tax.

What the software does to your data

Bucketree performs the operations you ask it to on your own Backblaze account. Some of those operations are irreversible: deleting every version of a file, and enabling Object Lock, cannot be undone by us, by you, or by Backblaze support.

The application is built to make that clear before you act rather than after, but the decisions are yours and the consequences are yours. You are responsible for having backups of anything you cannot lose. This software is a file manager, not a backup system.

No warranty

Bucketree is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be free of defects, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it will be uninterrupted. Backblaze is a third party and their service, pricing, limits and API can change without our involvement.

Limits of our liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Bucketree at any time. We may end your licence if you breach these terms, and we will tell you why. If we end it for any other reason we will refund the unused part of your subscription.

Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will say so on this page and date it, rather than changing it quietly.
